Pitch a story

The Teapot Hour welcomes considered pitches about coffee, tea, and slow drinks at home. We are interested in clear, useful ideas that help readers understand a cup, make a choice, or notice a familiar ritual anew.

What we are looking for

Propose a focused article on brewing, tea, coffee, ingredients, drinkware, or the small rituals around making and serving a drink. Strong pitches have a clear reader question, a distinct angle, and enough substance to be useful without relying on grand claims or specialized credentials.

Make the pitch specific

Tell us the working title, the central idea, who would find it useful, and what the piece will explain. Include a short note about your relevant experience or approach, and flag any products, businesses, or other interests that could affect how readers understand the work. A pitch is not a guarantee of publication.

Send a proposal

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option to send your proposal. Please do not send a complete article unless it has been requested. We will review pitches for fit, clarity, and usefulness, and may not be able to respond to every submission.
